This development north of Leamington will add to urban sprawl by leading towards the merger of Leamington/Warwick with Kenilworth/Coventry. This is especially the case given that housing development is already taking place south and east of Kenilworth. Leamington/Warwick have a separate and distinct identity at present which will be lost if they become another suburb of Coventry. The development will also cause a significant loss of Green Belt land and rural footpaths close to the river Avon which are an important wildlife habitat and local amenity at present, easily accessible to residents of north Leamington.
