The new town will engulf Wilmcote and Bearley increasing population by more than 20 times, ruining Wilmcote as an important historic tourist venue. The road infrastructure of Wilmcote cannot cope with the inevitable increase in traffic and it is impossible to widen/improve the roads running through the village. The A3400 cannot cope with extra traffic, the Bishopton Roundabout is already a disastrous bottleneck. Building on greenbelt farmland will considerably increase flood risk in the area. The 2007 floods closed the A3400 at Bearley and the Bishopton Roundabout because the farmland was saturated. Concreting over the land will cause environmental disaster.
