For my whole life and the lives of my parents Shipston has been on the east bank of the river and to change that would undoubtedly be detrimental to the identity of the town and take away from its individuality. As well as this, it is one of the greatest rural communities I’ve ever had the pleasure to be in and to further expand the town would be a step away from a way of life that is endangered in the modern day. This development would be the death of another enclave of the old English countryside.
