This is high-amenity value land, which the local residents use and value. It is also high-grade agricultural land and forms part of the green belt, protecting surrounding villages from being absorbed into the town. Building on this land would have a detrimental impact on wellbeing and on the setting and character of Leamington and the surrounding villages. The public transport infrastructure is also not there to support a large settlement in this area, and it would therefore have a negative impact on local road systems. The drastic step of building on green belt land is not supported by the figures.
