Motor traffic. Local villages have narrow roads and listed buildings. Access to G1 is restricted to narrow "C" roads frequently in need of repair. A large increase in number of cars and HGVs would be unsuitable for the topography. M40 J12 has sharp bends with concrete walling both N and S. An urban development with little employment development opportunity obliges car use.

G1 is close to the railway line used to transport hazardous equipment for military purposes.

G1 has habitats for amphibia and birds in need of protection.
