Transport arrangements do need improvement and the emphasis should be on public transport not more use of private cars which already choke towns. Private transport by bicycle and e-bike should be encouraged in built-up areas by the provision of cycle lanes and traffic calming. Any new settlements should include these from inception. Rural roads are narrow and dangerous to use on cycles at present. Also the number of potholes and the lack of timely repair is a risk.
