With narrow roads going in and out of the village, it would be horrendous to experience the extra volume of traffic. There are no pavements in some places.
S-on-A gets very congested at school times. We cannot find an NHS dentist. I am having cancer treatment at the nearby hospital and there are already considerable delays between appointments. The infrastructure of the town could not cope with another 6,700 households. We have had massive developments nearby in the 5 years since we moved to Wilmcote. Our historic village, part of Shakespeare's heritage, would be no more. Hell on earth.
Additional rep via email 28/02/25:
I wish to strongly object to the proposed development of 6700 houses near to Wilmcote and Bearley!
Traffic in and around Stratford upon Avon is at times heavily congested, as it is a major tourist attraction. Part of the reason we moved here to Wilmcote in 2020. As retired people we restrict our travel into the town centre to weekdays as it is very bad at weekends. I can’t imagine what it would be like with all the new houses. Stratford upon Avon has had massive housing developments since we moved to Wilmcote. Have we not have more than our fair share? We do not have the infrastructure to cope with the extra traffic. Our local roads in Wilmcote are narrow and have limited parking, especially around the school. This development would be a huge detriment to the area.
