Whilst there are many reasons for the unsuitability of this site, the overwhelming reason is down to the fact the entire development falls within a Green Belt. By the Government’s own definition, the fundamental aim of Green Belt policy is to prevent urban sprawl, with essential characteristics of openness and permanence. It is therefore non-sensical to maintain the South Warwickshire Green Belt in accordance with that policy for ~50 years, including all the hard work and costs associated from government and citizens alike, only to abandon it abruptly for the sake of short-term political target hitting.
