Preserve the Green Belt in SG06 South Warwickshire’s housing needs can be met without Green Belt loss, as the Local Plan identifies 54,000 potential dwellings outside it. Releasing Green Belt land is not justified when sustainable alternatives exist. SG06 fails sustainability criteria, with poor public transport links, car dependency, and severe infrastructure pressures. The area’s Green Belt prevents urban sprawl, supports biodiversity, and protects high-grade farmland. Developing brownfield sites is a more responsible solution, aligning with government policy. We urge officials to reject Green Belt development and prioritise sustainable, well-connected urban growth. Once lost, Green Belt land is gone forever.
