The town can't accommodate the extra building. The infrastructure is depleted by the removal of the hospital, the schools are not coping (no sixth-form!), the GP's are not coping with the population at present. The biggest problem is the drainage - the drainage is currently overloaded and there has been overflowing sewerage in some of the lower lying houses. The traffic is already struggling at times because of the one-way system, the small bridges. The Stour is often flooding! They are proposing to build on flood plains which is ludicrous. It is not a sustainable proposition.
