Green belt areas should not be considered when brownfield land is available. Safeguarding the green belt helps restrict urban sprawl. New settlements are preferable to meet targets and quotas without straining existing infrastructure. The Clopton Quarter part of SG18 next to the Welcombe Hills should be permanently safeguarded against development to align with South Warwickshire's principles of "a beautiful South Warwickshire" and "a biodiverse and environmentally resilient South Warwickshire."
