I support the strategic objectives of the SWLP, but object to its appropriateness for SG17 particularly sites 148 and 747. SG17 is already suffering the deficit of investment following the addition of 20% to its population and won't support sustainable growth or an improvement to the lifestyle of new residents. Shipston is a rural market town suffering from a lack of education facilities, employment opportunities, good local transport, limited opportunities for commercial investment and severe congestion, which will impact on local heritage buildings and bridges. It needs to upgrade current infrastructure and facilities before it is considered for additional housing.
