Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The reasons for opposing the development of an industrial estate, with the possibility of further housing, at SG07 Wedgenock Park Farm duplicate all those put forward in respect of the proposed housing development at B1 Hatton, as follows:

Encroachment on green belt land
The proposed industrial development at SG07 Wedgenock Park Farm would encroach on green belt land, allowing a significant sprawl of the built up area into the countryside. This in turn would further result in the loss of productive farmland, which is vital for future food security, and would have a detrimental effect on biodiversity, animal habitats and protected species.
Roads
The same arguments apply for the proposed SG07 development as they do for B1 Hatton housing development, i.e., that the current road structure is totally inadequate to cope with the increased traffic which would result, and that investment in major upgrades would be necessary before any such development could even be considered. The number of HGVs potentially entering such a site would result in further traffic gridlock, pollution and the need for increased road maintenance.
Significant government funding would be required to ensure that the necessary infrastructure was planned and in place in anticipation for such a development, together with consideration to be given beforehand for upgrading services such as sewerage, water, electricity, communications, etc.
Conclusion
The development of a significantly large industrial site on the outskirts of Warwick would seriously jeopardise the character of Warwick as an historic town, which could have an impact on its current attraction and viability as a tourist venue.
