I do understand the Government’s commitment to increase supply of affordable housing and support this. However, the current proposals suggest only 40% affordable housing, which is not what is needed.
For Stratford and Wariwck to suggest finding greenfield sites in these districts by 2050, which when combined covers an area larger than Birmingham, is utterly shocking, and cannot be what is needed.
I believe there are still more options to be sought in these districts from brownfield sites (for example the row of houses by St Mary’s Collegiate church in Warwick, which were formerly council offices, and were remodelled some 10 years ago or areas with empty/unused business premises).
Finally, I would urge Stratford to review their plans at Long Marston and Bearley and move to complete.
