Protect the Green Belt North of Leamington Spa

South Warwickshire can meet its housing targets without sacrificing Green Belt land, as the Local Plan’s Sustainability Appraisal confirms 54,500 homes can be built outside it—far exceeding the 30,000 required.

Green Belt prevents sprawl, protects biodiversity, preserves farmland, and promotes urban regeneration. SG06 is unsustainable, lacking public transport links and increasing car dependency. Developing it contradicts national sustainability policies and will worsen congestion, infrastructure strain, and environmental degradation.

We urge officials to prioritize brownfield sites and preserve the Green Belt for future generations—a vital asset for our community, environment, and economy.
