This is a rural site that is not well suited to such a large-scale development, for the following reasons:
- Unnecessary development on Green Belt land
- Increased traffic through small rural and village roads
- Increased air and noise pollution
- Damaging biodiversity, destroying green spaces and wildlife habitats, and loss of protected trees
- A settlement divided by a major A road (A3400), creating a safety risk to pedestrians and children crossing to access amenities such as schools
- Strain on the infrastructure such as GP surgeries, utilities and water supply
- Increased risk of flooding
