New development should be prioritised in areas of lowest flood risk. Turning green field into urban areas increases flood risk. I have supplied photos of existing flooding in residential land adjacent to the Clopton Corner part of SQ18. Greybelt / brown field land will already have tried-and-tested excess water management, drainage and facilities in place greatly minimising flooding risk from new development. Greybelt / brown field land should be prioritised over greenfield and farmland for development.
