The sustainability plan shows housing needs can be met easily without resorting to destroying our greenbelt. Our greenbelt is not sustainable for housing as it is half an hour's walk to the town centre. The greenbelt is a natural haven for wildlife and plantlife; we need to preserve these rare native species for posterity. People walk the footpaths in thousands each week--locals and tourists. It is a spot of scenic beauty and part of our local heritage. Do not destroy this beautiful refuge for nature. It is unlawful to build on greenbelt land when housing needs can be met elsewhere.
