Shipston has inadequate public transport for this population increase. There is no train station and buses to nearby towns like Stratford and Banbury are unreliable and infrequent. Surrounding villages do not have appropriate roads, and Shipston already suffers with a lot of traffic due to various one-way roads.
The character of our small town will change with such a large development. Market square is popular, a source of tourism, and this is because of its current look and feel, and the fact that it is part of the Conservation zone. Major development threatens this.
Additionally, Shipston is high-risk regarding flooding.
