Shipston has seen a great deal of development in recent years. The High School is over subscribed and the medical centre is stretched beyond capacity. The towns drainage system is failing. The road network is under pressure. Local job opportunities are minimal. Bus services are infrequent and the nearest railway station is 7 miles away therefore car use is essential. An increase in traffic due to further development would have a serious impact on Shipston. Site Ref ID 331 (West of Furze Hill Road) is only accessible via existing estate roads which will not cope with the increased traffic.
