There is inadequate infrastructure in Shipston on Stour to support the development plan. Some of the housebuilding is planned for the far side of the river on a flood plain and with a medieval bridge as the only point of access to the rest of the town. There are inadequate employment opportunities and retail sites to support the existing town population and any development of land should be used to address these needs first. The facilities at the local schools and the medical centre are insufficent for the current town population and could not support the additional development.
