Harm to the character of Hatton Locks and canal conservation area.
Harm to character of Walkway used by pedestrians to access canal towpath.
Increased traffic hazardous using Hatton Flight /Middle Lock lane for walkers.
Location of access to busy road not appropriate.
Harm to Wildlife and protected species.
Home to bats, owls and numerous birds.
Increased light pollution usually a dark landscape on canal. Refer to objections to Planning app W/20/1251 refused in 2024 which is within same area. The WDC conservation objection quoted this as “one of the most sensitive and important sections of the canal conservation area’.
