I want to register our opposition to the proposed new housing in the SWLP as members of Shipston Area Flood Action Group (SAFAG). For over 11 years, we have been addressing flooding issues, which have been exacerbated by increasingly intense storms. Since September, the River Stour has flooded multiple times, and residents will face worsening conditions due to climate change. Additionally, there are significant sewage problems linked to surface water runoff affecting both old systems and new housing estates. Given the historical flooding issues, building new housing estates is unwise, even with sustainable drainage systems.
