As we are currently experiencing longer periods of wet weather due to climate change (which will worsen year on year), the proposal to build over vast areas of fields at Wilmcote which is already a high risk area for flooding, is alarming. The heavy local soil is constantly waterlogged now, with frequent flooding across local roads during heavy downpours. The run-off water from this development cannot be adequately catered for and will exacerbate the flood risk not only in Bearley/Wilmcote but other villages downstream.
