Wilmcote has a beautiful, rural location; the home of Shakespeare's mother (Mary Arden) is here. This is an incredible asset for tourism in the Stratford area and UK which makes the proposal to create an urban sprawl here totally unacceptable. It will no longer be an attractive, quintessentially English village that tourists pay to see.
It sits close to the road edge and the constant vibration of vastly increased numbers of vehicles and buses will affect the fabric of this grade 1 listed building. Other proposed sites do not have such an historically significant site to protect for the nation.
