The development site borders the River Stour which has shown itself prone to flooding on many occasions. The lands bordering the river should be left clear of all development to provide space for the river - and that swathe of land developed as a floodplain meadow with various wetland habitats under BNG to foster wildlife and preserve a flora and fauna rich corridor along the river.
