Area of considerable beauty with much wildlife, ancient trees, hedgerows popular with walkers and cyclists. Unsuitable roads with numerous canal and railway bridges unsuitable for upgrade. Inadequate transport links with poor station facilities difficult to upgrade and no regular bus service. No gas supply and frequent electricity cuts. Flooding concerns with local streams. Several nearby National Trust sites of considerable historic importance. Inadequate school and medical facilities in the local area with the associated difficulties of communication would make the 20 minute area philosophy unachievable. It is necessary to preserve green belt areas such as this for the environment.
