These proposals will result in Wilmcote Village and the surrounding area experiencing increased traffic, noise, air and emissions pollution along with probable flooding and pressure on already stretched health and education services and policing.
The train stations at Wilmcote and Bearley have no parking facilities. Increased use would result in vehicles being parked on the highway causing a traffic hazard.
Wilmcote is a significant tourist attraction for those wanting to learn about and experience life in Shakespeare’s time. Being surrounded by a large development as that being proposed would hugely detract from the tranquility and ambience of Wilmcote Village.
