The negative impacts of urban sprawl into this area outweigh the benefits. This is greenbelt land, designated to maintain the character of South Warwickshire's rural areas, and protect the character of landscapes such as Welcome Hills. This is a special landscape area and of huge value to local communities- residents' physical and mental well-being is enhanced by access to such landscapes. The biodiversity in surrounding hedgerows is huge, with native and migratory birds/insects/mammals etc. Pressure on infrastructure, e.g. Birmingham Road also negatively affects well being and environmental challenges e.g. air quality. Flood mitigation would also be adversely effected.
