Shipston lacks the facilities to support the current population, by means of insufficient schools (primary and secondary) and public transport. There are infrequent bus services making car use essential - our roadways are already struggling with the single track roads and bridges at Honnington and Barcheston being choke points for traffic already. Our market square is also part of a conservation zone which will see higher demand and congestion.
Shipston is highly susceptible to flooding and 42% of the Fell Mill site (Refs. 148, 747) are in flood zones 3&2.
