Pedestrian and cycle routes in new developments should be designed to be usable by parents with double buggies and mobility scooters. Ensure that there are dropped kerbs from the outset and pedestrian crossings at junctions and close to shops, community facilities and schools. More parking provision for residents and visitors to avoid cars parking on and obstructing pavements.
Bus routes and shelters should be included in all major developments. A bus services should be established for new settlements.
The adoption of roads should be speeded up given the length of time that new major new developments take to complete.
