Currently Wilmcote has been identified as high risk for flooding by Stratford District Council. The impact of said development will increase surface water run off and higher insurance costs, therefore high costs of upgrading infrastructure. Increased traffic and urban sprawl will harm the historic villages of Wilmcote and Bearley and potential damage to Mary Arden’s house which is a Grade 1 property and site of global interest, due to its connection to William Shakespeare. Negative effects on residents and visitors due to loss of green spaces affecting mental well being. Loss of tranquil landscapes and wildlife habitats will impact detrimentally.
