This area covers some of the only Green Belt between Kenilworth, Burton Green and Coventry. If the residential elements of the site were built on, the knock-on transport needs would imply a new road, as the consultation text states, which would further erode this separation. The phase 1 Green Belt review identified this region as contributing strongly. The University of Warwick has plans for an Eco Park in this area, which would be cut in two by any A46 link road, meaning further indirect negative effects. The new NPPF housing numbers for Coventry are substantially reduced, reducing any overspill requirement.
