The expectation that railway corridors should be focussed on for development is flawed,and should be reconsidered. The capacity of existing train services and the inherent inflexibility of their nature of their service compromises their ability to provide all transport needs for family living. This means cars will always be the usual handy default transport option, so growth should be focussed around road infrastructure moving forward. Incorporation of cycle tracks is helpful so that a greener option is readily available to support individual needs and schedules for small distance journeys expected in a 20 minute community philosophy.
