The proposed developments at SG14 would cause significant harm to the rural landscape, destroying greenfield sites and wildlife habitats in an area already experiencing over development. These areas lack rail connectivity, contradicting the Local Plan’s sustainability objectives. Existing road infrastructure is already congested, with no viable alternatives. Justifying development based on a single employer is flawed. Equally, continued commercial development to retrospectively justify over-population risks dramatic consequences including flooding and air pollution. Allowing these proposals sets a dangerous precedent. They fail to align with sustainable growth principles, overburden infrastructure, and permanently alter the countryside, making them inappropriate and unsustainable.
