Road safety: The ‘S’ bend on B4098 entering Great Alne from Alcester is a potential accident black-spot given the blind bends and narrow roads. It is also hazardous for pedestrians who only have access to a narrow pavement along one side of carriageway.
Flood risks: the ‘S’ bend is a known flooding hotspot.
Ecological concerns: site runs along disused railway line, now a public right of way enjoyed by walking enthusiasts, and is a natural haven for local species of birds including nesting swans and buzzards, and other wildlife.
