This land is part of a swathe of land that has an established and important agricultural use. Wheat and Rape Seed are rotated and are important for UK food and bio fuel needs. Without it and other areas like it grain/ fuel has to be imported from across the world thereby decreasing local sustainability of food and increasing CO2 emissions.
Once prime agricultural land is lost to building it is gone forever, it cannot be replaced!. Houses, solar panels and other non agricultural use of that land reduces our sustainability of food it does not increase it.
WDC should think seriously about meeting housing need without decimating vital agricultural land.
