The 20 minute neighbourhood is not a realistic ambition in remote locations. Remote locations do not have accessible supermarkets, accessible hospitals, accessible libraries, accessible secondary schools and further education colleges. Development in remote locations in the spirit of the 20 minute neighbourhood will only serve to increase private car use on rural roads that cannot safely cope with increased traffic.
