South Warwickshire’s housing need can be met without using green belt land. The Local Plan’s Sustainability Appraisal confirms that 48,500 dwellings in Strategic Growth Locations and 6,000 in New Settlements outside the green belt provide sufficient capacity for the required 30,000 homes by 2050. Therefore, there is no justification for green belt release. Unmet needs from Coventry and Redditch should be addressed near those cities, not in North Leamington. Additionally, SG06 is not a sustainable location, conflicting with the plan’s 20-minute neighborhood vision.
