This site sits within greenbelt and its preservation would assist in urban regeneration, preserve the setting of Lillington and preserve the countryside from encroachment. There is a much wider gap between this site and next nearest towns of Rugby and Southam so it does make less of a contribution to both preventing urban sprawl and preventing these towns from merging. However, as I have previously mentioned, your own sustainability appraisal suggests that the very special circumstances for including greenbelt sites in this plan have not been met.
