I strongly oppose the proposed development of 6,800 homes in Bearley, as it threatens local wildlife, overwhelms infrastructure, worsens flooding risks, and destroys the village’s rural character. The plan contradicts national planning policies that emphasise protecting biodiversity, prioritising brownfield development over greenfield sites, and ensuring infrastructure can support new housing. Bearley lacks the roads, schools, and healthcare facilities to sustain such growth. I urge the Council to conduct a full environmental assessment, explore alternative sites, and engage with residents before proceeding. Protecting Bearley’s heritage and environment must take precedence over unsustainable expansion.
