SG04 is ancient greenbelt land which can be seen from Kenilworth Castle (a protected English Heritage site). Any urban development would directly erode the historical landscape and represent a loss of rural character. It’s a minimum 30 minutes’ walk to the centre of Kenilworth, has no realistic public transport and poor road access in a road network that’s already saturated to breaking point. The town’s existing infrastructure cannot support more housing, and neither can Warwick Hospital. Increased development will increase surface water drainage on the Greenbelt land which will flow towards Kenilworth Castle and increased flood risk at Kenilworth ford.
