It inarguably fulfils all 5 purposes of greenbelt, particularly in openness and preventing urban sprawl. This is not reflected in the poor evaluation contained within the greenbelt review.
It consists of some of the best and most productive farmland in the area which should be protected for food production.
Development needs can be met without including greenbelt land in the review and even if that were not the case, this land should be considered after other areas of lower contribution and intrinsic sustainability value.
It is an important firebreak against harmful development.
It cannot contribute to a 20 minute neighbourhood.
