To meet the housing / growth needs, a wider strategy that just building new houses is needed. Buying and selling houses needs to be made easier, and more needs to be done to utilise empty or under-occupied houses. Any new developments need to cater for all needs – young people trying to get on the property ladder, older / disabled people, empty-nesters / singletons etc. Adequate parking must be provided. Green technologies are essential to reduce ongoing costs and carbon emissions / other environmental impacts.
