• The road infrastructure would not be able to cope (particularly the Clopton Bridge) causing more congestion in the historic town centre and south of the river;
• If a new relief road and river crossing were to be built between Tiddington and Alveston, it would be intrusive, require a large and expensive structure across the flood plain and would impact on both villages (a bypass and river crossing to the west of Stratford would be less intrusive and link directly to the A46 and strategic road network).
