The proposed 6,800-home development in Bearley threatens infrastructure, environment, and community well-being. Roads and public transport cannot support increased traffic, while schools and healthcare services are already stretched. The loss of greenbelt land, protected trees, woodlands, meadows, and hedges will harm biodiversity, breaking down vital wildlife corridors. This development will irreversibly alter Bearley’s historic and rural character. While housing is needed, this scale of construction is unsustainable without major infrastructure improvements. Alternative solutions should be explored to balance growth while preserving Bearley’s identity, environment, and quality of life for both current and future residents.
