I disagree mainly on transport considerations. The Clopton Bridge is frequently backed up already and is the main route into/through Stratford from the East. Parking is frequently full south of Stratford so for locals wanting to access their town they often then have to drive through Stratford to access parking creating more congestion.
The West side of Stratford or North has more links into town and parking availability to save putting more pressure on the roads through the town centre and there is more space to the West of the town if a new bypass/river crossing is needed.
