I attended a public consultation event at Barford school and have additional feedback. The proposed SG09 development includes a new motorway junction, which could lead to future residential development and urban sprawl. SG09 and X1 would merge into a major urban area, contradicting the council’s aim to keep new settlements distinct. The increase in HGV traffic from SG09 raises concerns about road capacity, especially on single carriageways. Additionally, developments on Wasperton Lane could worsen traffic and impact food security by using Best Most Versatile land in an area where limited public transport options are available.
