Shipston (SG17) should not be designated as a strategic growth area for many reasons. its infrastructure is limited with no railway station and inadequate bus services, employment opportunities are scarce and Fell Mill Lane (148 & 747) east of Shipston, sits on a grade 2 & 3 floodplain. Additionally, education, healthcare, and green spaces are already under pressure. Increased development would exacerbate traffic on narrow roads, pose additional flooding risks, and damage the rural character. Further development would compromise both the local environment, our heritage and the quality of life. Shipston is not a viable option for sustainable growth.
