I would like to raise objection against the plan to build 6700 homes in Wilmcote.
We don’t have the infrastructure to cope with a development of this size.
We then will have at least 6700 cars if not more with development around the Stratford upon Avon areas adding to the traffic. We already have problems getting into Stratford upon Avon, especially on the weekends we don’t even try between 11am and 2pm. roads going into Stratford upon Avon. It just causes even bigger traffic jams.
As for all these houses that are going to be built, where are the jobs for all these people coming from? As we don’t seem to have the work available for them in this area. The industrial park near Warwick isn’t growing at the moment although the land is available, so if there is something in the process I would be surprised. Also how on earth will the NHS copy with all these extra people, as they are not coping at the moment. Are there any new schools, colleges being planned for development in the future?
Wilmcote has always taken it’s pride in being part of a farming community and you are taking this away from us and the way things are going we are definitely going to need the farmland for food in the future.
Wilmcote was always a beautiful rural village just outside Stratford upon Avon but the way things are going we will end up being swallowed up by Stratford upon Avon and just become a suburb. We have tourists that come to visit our area to see the quaint Shakespeare history and all you are doing is destroying the tourism and history that we are so proud of.
